Yes the shirt will keep its shape after many washes, the 95% cotton and 5% spandex will keep the shirt from stretching out of place during washing. Always follow the care label to keep the shirt at Its best looking.

Is the stitching strong, especially around the pocket area?

Pockets are sewn in a very strong stitch and backed up with a top stitch as well as a double stitch at the bottom of the pocket.
